Thingymabobs: The Alternative Arms for YOUR Glasses!
Thingymabobs work with Prescription Glasses, Sunglasses, and fashion glasses. (I cannot emphasize enough that we do not sell glasses. These chains are made for you to attach to your own glasses at home.)
THEY ONLY WORK WITH WEIGHTS!!!The weights are attached by lobster clasps at the ends making them interchangable, so if the matched weights pictured first with the chain don't work for you then we do sell weights individually or you can use old earrings or necklace pendants you have at home.
"What if I'm not sure what size weight I need?"
We suggest the more active you are the heavier the weight. BUT weight depends on each individual's own comfort, and I was surprised to find out myself how light I like my own. So if you are new to thingymabobs we suggest buying the sphere cages also pictured with every chain, they are too light on their own but allow you to change the weight by caging crystals, dice, and other small trinkets.
"What if I'm too active for weights to work?" "What if I have a job or hobby that makes me do flips?"
I have two words: HEADBANGER ATTACHMENT! Only $1 and they turn your thingymabob glasses into temporary goggles.
"What if I want Multiple Chains?"
The Glasses Connections options 'Barrel Screws', and ' Lobster Clasp' allow you to make your thingymabobs interchangeable. (Shown in the last photo)
"What are the differences in the glasses connections?"
'Barrel Screws' and 'Lobster Clasps' make the thingymabobs interchangeable. The difference in the two is personal preference. I have EDS which makes my fingers dislocate every so often, I need to use the barrel screw option because my fingers wont always work to operate the clasps. However, my friend has a tremor and needs to use the lobster clasp because trying to get the barrel screws to line up is nearly impossible.
'Direct Connection' is to have permanent thingymabob arms. Requiring you to unscrew the arms to disconnect the thingymabobs.
['(Chain Side Only) Barrel Screw' is for those buying a second chain (or more) for the same glasses so you don't have to get multiple glasses sides of the barrels that'll just be tossed or lost.]
"What if I have back up glasses and I want to use my thingymabobs with both pairs of glasses?"
We do sell 'Additional Glasses Connections'.
"How am I supposed to get my arms off of my glasses?"
The arms are attached by a screw. With your order will come a free small screw driver with both a flat head and Philips to allow you to take the arms off of your glasses. We send the standard middle size of glasses screwdrivers that works on most glasses sold these days. However, there are 3 main sizes of glasses screws that you will come across, please do not strip your screw trying to force it. Glasses kits with multiple size drivers are sold online and in stores like pharmacies and even gas stations.
"What do the Thingymabobs help with exactly?"
Honestly this list keeps growing as more people try out these alternative arms. But some ways they have help people so far:
I made my first pair because the stiff arms of glasses would guarantee a migraine within the first hour of wearing glasses. Using thingymabobs got rid of my pressure migraines entirely.
I soon found out they help those who wear headphones or helmets for extended periods of time as the arms bend with them.
People with hearing aids aren't worried about hitting the aids with "sticks anymore" (talking about the regular stiffness of glasses arms)
Some with asymmetrical or "lopsided" ears have even said "its easier to get their glasses aligned right."
Mothers dont worry about their babies hurting themselves or the glasses when they "inevitably rip them off".
And a few girls with autism have thanked me for giving them a way to "wear earrings again."
